Low blind-zone ultrasonic sensors are a short-range sub-family for small tanks and compact process equipment. They are useful when the tank cannot provide the large near-field clearance required by a long-range ultrasonic transmitter.
The selection starts from the maximum possible liquid level rather than only the tank height. If the tank can be overfilled into the blind zone, the product will not read reliably at the most important point.
WELK checks mounting thread, nozzle height, beam angle, output signal and controller input. For foaming chemicals or hot vapor, a low blind-zone sensor may still be the wrong technology even if the range looks suitable.
