How it is selected & specified.
A split ultrasonic level meter separates the ultrasonic transducer from the display/controller. The sensor is mounted above the liquid, while the controller is installed at a wall, cabinet or operator-accessible location.
This layout is preferred for deep pits, wastewater pump stations, chemical pits, tanks with difficult access and projects that need several relay points. It also helps when the sensor area is wet or corrosive but the display should remain protected.
The sensor cable length, route and shielding should be planned before order. For outdoor or wastewater service, WELK also checks condensation, sun exposure, sensor-face material and whether the cable gland and enclosure are suitable.
For open-channel flow, the same split architecture may be used, but the controller must be configured with the correct weir, flume or custom flow table.
